What To Expect Before, During, and After a Root Canal?
Before Root Canal Treatment

During Root Canal Treatment
On the day of your procedure, you will be given a local anaesthetic to numb the area around the tooth. Our dentist will then use a rubber dam to isolate the tooth and keep it clean and dry during the procedure.
Once numbed and set up, an opening will be made through the top of the tooth to access the pulp. The infected or damaged pulp will be removed, and the root canal system will be cleaned and shaped.
A temporary filling will be placed in the opening, and the tooth will be protected with a temporary crown until the permanent restoration can be completed.
After Root Canal Treatment
After your treatment, you may experience some discomfort or sensitivity for a few days. This is normal and can be managed with over-the-counter pain medications.
We advise you to follow our dentists’ instructions for caring for the treated tooth, including avoiding hard and crunchy foods and maintaining good oral hygiene. You will be given a schedule for your permanent restoration, such as a crown, placed over the treated tooth.
